Dr Catherine Teh is currently the co-Director of the Liver Center and Training Officer of the Department of Surgery in NKTI. She also serves as the Director of the Liver Care Center and Chief of the Section of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery of the Makati Medical Center. She has been a leading member of the Network of Colorectal Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams in Asia Pacific Region (NECTAR) and also in the panel of International Expert Group on Oncosurge Management Of Liver Metastases (EGOSLIM) for the consensus guidelines on the management of liver metastases. She is also affiliated with St Luke’s Medical Center, The Medical City and Chinese General Hospital in Manila.
Dr. Teh is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas. She furthered her training in GI surgery in England in 1998, then pursued in fellowship in Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery at the National Cancer Centre in Singapore in 2000. She also served as a clinical associate in Singapore Gen Hospital until 2003. In 2004, She spent 4 months in the 1st Affiliate Hospital in the Zhezhiang University in China for cadaveric liver transplantation. In 2006, Dr. Teh again furthered her training in minimally invasive surgery, this time in European Institute of Telesurgery in Strasbourg. She also earned another Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in the University of Louis Pasteur in France during this time. Her passion in liver surgery brought her back to France in 2010 and continued to spend time at Centre Hepatobiliare at Hopital Paul Brousse in Paris with Prof Rene Adam in the further studies & collaboration on Multidisciplinary Management of metastatic colon & rectal cancer. She earned her university diploma in HPB Cancers in the same centre from the Universite Paris Sud. She was also mentored by Prof. Daniel Cherqui of the Hopital Henri Mondor in Creteil for Liver Surgery including transplantation
